We absolutely adore relaxed, intimate, and always warm wine country weddings and were excited to start our busy season with a wedding in Calistoga last weekend. We loved this site from the first glance, it is full of surprises and it lets you fall more and more in love with it the longer you explore it. Hans Fahden is located in the mountains right between Santa Rosa and Calistoga and it is a venue that has it all: Cabernet vineyards, a pond full of lily pads and koi fish, a beautiful wisteria covered tea house, and an amazing candlelit volcanic ash cave, just perfect for dinner. We’ve worked at this venue before and it never ceases to amaze us.
Becca and Anil live in Southern California so for them Calistoga was a destination. They did a fantastic job planning every single detail from so far away: everything was just perfect, and the day turned out to be absolutely beautiful. We have a ton of favorite photographs from this sweet wedding, here are just a few of them:
Becca’s beautiful dress was heavily guarded:
Do I even need to mention how much I loved Becca’s fabulous shoes?
Our handsome groom:
Hans Fahden has the most gorgeous ceremony setting: the area is surrounded by blooming flower beds and overlooks the overgrown Monet style pond:
Mike caught this moment at the ceremony, I absolutely love it:
After seeing this gorgeous cheese display, now I want cheese at my wedding too!
We loved shooting portraits in the garden around the pool – every branch was blooming and every turn opened new exciting photo backgrounds!
The cave goes deep into the hillside and is perfect for hot summer wine country reception dinners as it never gets hot:

sunny :)
How challenging was the light in that place?! =0) I shot one of my very first weddings here and it was TOUGH.
Love the lighting and the magenta accents in the flowers and tie. The cake and reception setting are lovely too. Great job Nat & Mike !
Thanks, Angie and Stefan! This was indeed a very sunny and colorful wedding :)
Great stuff! Love the warmth in the photos!
