This wedding post is a long time in the making because we simply couldn’t choose which images to feature. As you might have seen on our Facebook page we even had to ask our fans to help with choosing some of the photos (more about it later). This three hundred person wedding was so intimate and harmonic that we absolutely fell in love with this family and the beautiful emotional moments that happened during the day.
Without further ado (and because we’ve already made Olivia and John wait long enough) here are our favorites.
The prep room at The Fairmont had gorgeous light from the windows:
Olivia opened her groom’s gift and the whole room got teary eyed looking at her reaction:
She wore his present near her heart:
The details. The whole day was full of gorgeous, thought out details that made the large Villa Ragusa seem so intimate and personal.
I don’t think I was the only one who held her breath when brave Olivia jumped up on the ledge to take down her dress:
We are often asked what kind of wedding dresses are our favorites. The answer is – the one that takes the longest to put on :) The ones with a million tiny little buttons on the back!
John looking sharp, if slightly nervous, just before seeing his wife-to-be on the wedding day:
That hallway was looong. But she was worth waiting for – The first look:
I love Olivia’s eyes and the hand, holding John so so tight!
And then we were off for portraits, exploring every corner of the hotel, looking for perfect light:
Olivia and John were much more relaxed and open in front of our lenses after their Engagement Session. It wasn’t difficult to catch the intimate and harmonic moments between them:
My personal favorite portrait of the day:
Supported by her dad, Olivia was just bursting with joy while walking down the isle:
It’s too bad we don’t do video as I’d love to show you how many times Olivia was laughing and crying during her dad’s toast:
The first dance:
We caught this candid series during Olivia and John’s first dance. LOVE the way Olivia’s parents were looking at the couple. These are the two images that we couldn’t decide on forever, so we posted them on Facebook asking for help. People had a lot of great thoughts and we are posting both of the images here:
And I’ll finish with these reception detail photographs. Edgar’s team from Flowers by Edgar cast their magic and converted the Villa Ragusa ballroom into a gorgeous purple fantasy scene:
Olivia and John – thank you for inviting us to spend the day with you, for opening up to us, and for allowing us to document all the beautiful moments that happened. We loved being there with you.
