A few weeks ago we shot a maternity session for Lena and her husband Alex who are expecting a baby girl. This was a present to them from a few of their friends and what a great idea it was! The photos were to be displayed as a surprise for the guests at their baby shower and we’re now reposting these shots to the blog.
Instead of shooting at their home they decided to have a photo session somewhere more urban and edgy. Unfortunately, we dont have a lot of ruins here in Bay Area, so after some thinking we decided on Park Presidio which has a nice combination of beautiful trees and abandoned buildings with red brick walls.
Lena was an incredibly great sport: it was pretty cold outside, but no matter what we asked her to do, she did it without any hesitation, allowing us to try pretty much everything we wanted! It was so much fun!
There were many shots that I loved and here are a few to share now:
Loved this edgy and stylish shot:
We found some weird cages which made for an awesome background:

Mike and I love nature and we try to get out any chance we get. We are always looking for new and exciting places to hike in the South Bay. Recently learning about the 10-mile-long Los Gatos Creek Trail we went to explore it a couple of days ago. Our hiking speed usually really depends on whether or not we have cameras. This time we decided we wanted to take pictures, so while we probably only hiked a mile or two, every flower and bush on the way got successfully documented :)
Some of the day’s catches:
A quick self-portrait:
There was no way I could just pass by the most orange flower ever:
A passerby saw us trying to take a picture of ourselves and kindly offered to photograph us, but we had something specific in mind :)
Hope you guys have a chance to get out and enjoy the beautiful spring-time outdoors! We shot an awesome engagement session in Menlo Park last Wednesday and can’t wait to share it with you this week.

Erica and Mike’s wedding was the first one of the upcoming wedding season. We’ve been looking forward to photographing this event for a long time and we were thrilled to be there.
When we met up with Erica at St. Christopher Church she looked absolutely gorgeous and was just a bit nervous prior to the ceremony. Mike and the guys were at the Church ahead of the girls and helped to seat the guests upon their arrival.
The beautiful reception was held at The Villages Golf and Country Club in the footsteps of the San Jose mountains. I absolutely love spring time, when nature is fresh, the grass is still green and everything around is flowering. On our way to the reception Mike and I noticed that the parking lot was just surrounded by blooming cherry blossom trees. These gorgeous trees turn completely white when they bloom and turn into small puffy clouds. At sunset, we sneaked out with Erica and Mike for a few more photos. The soft evening light and the background of blooming trees yielded some exciting photos.
The reception had some crazy dancing going on! Mike and I didn’t stop for a moment trying to capture all of the fun.
Congratulations to this wonderful couple! We had a great time at your wedding.
