On a giant lawn overlooking the Ghirardelli Square, Vanessa and Mike’s family and closest friends helped them to celebrate their union with a wedding at 1 Fort Mason in San Francisco. As Natasha put it, she knew it would be an awesome day when she first saw Vanessa’s pink Louboutins in the morning of the wedding. From the time we first saw Vanessa and her entourage at the Glama-rama salon, to when we said goodbye at the end of the reception, Vanessa and Mike were smiling the entire day.
It just so happened that their friends invited them to get dressed at another house on the Fort Mason property and it was great to be able to walk next door to the 1 Fort Mason wedding. We had a blast with the couple for the bride and groom portraits and the cocktail hour naturally continued into a fun and festive dinner reception.
Here are some favorites from the day:

This was the coolest groom’s cake I’ve ever seen :)

Just a bit more then a year since Rimma and Mark’s wedding we all came back to Mexico for the wedding of Vika and Igor. This beautiful event was held at the gorgeous Barcelo Maya Resort and we’ve been excited to shoot the wedding as well as to have a day (just a day, unfortunately) by the pool before heading back to the Bay Area.
What would you do if just a couple of days before your carefully planned wedding you’d learn that a hurricane is coming to the area? That’s right, Vika and Igor’s Riviera Maya wedding seemed to be right in the way of the recent hurricane Ivan. And as if there’s not enough stress right before the wedding day, these guys had to make the executive decision to either take their chances and have the wedding on the beach or to choose the safe but not-as-pretty option of having the wedding in the lobby of the Barcelo Maya resort. This brave couple chose to stick with the original plan and get married on the beach and when the big day came along the weather turned out to be just perfect! The slightly overcast sky was providing soft and even light – just the kind we love! :)
Here are some favorites:
These girls looove their flasks :) The top picture is from Vika’s wedding, the bottom is from Rimma’s a year ago :)
We absolutely loved Vika and Igor’s schedule of the day, we had more then TWO HOURS for their portraits!!!! How awesome is that?! We had plenty of time to walk through half of the hotel’s property with the couple and to make use of all the coolest spots for pictures :)
You’ll never guess where this portrait was taken :) I’ll just say that Barcelo Maya has the coolest bar bathrooms!
Their beautiful ceremony on the beach… we were so happy the weather cooperated!
Priceless :)
This one is one of my favorite from the day – Vika’s grandparents right after the ceremony.
Loved the first dance!
One of the hazards of being tall :)
As a surprise to their guests, Vika and Igor invited fire dancers to perform at the reception. The show was just breathtaking!
A few of behind-the-scenes pictures:
The day after the wedding we had a super fun Trash-the-Dress session with Vika and Igor. It’s hard to pick a few favorites from that session, but I promise we’ll share them on the blog soon!

Frances and Mark had a gorgeous wedding at Guglielmo Winery with a ceremony earlier in the day at the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Joseph in San Jose. We really enjoyed capturing all of the amazing details and moments for this cool couple.
Our favorite parts of this Guglielmo Winery wedding were the cobblestone courtyards as well as the bright green vineyards stretching as far as the eye can see. Also known as Villa Emile, this was a stunning setting for a wedding and we definitely hope to be back there soon. It looked like Frances and Mark were having a blast the whole day and it was a pleasure to share the day with them.
Here are some shots we absolutely loved:
