“When are we going to see your wedding pictures?” is the question we get bombarded with almost every day. Skype, IMs, Facebook messages, emails, and people we see in person – everyone has just one question for us! :)
Well, we have just received the pictures and we’ll be sharing them on our blog very soon! But for now I am going to share something I’ve been waiting to post for a super long time – our save the dates and wedding invitations!
Because our celebration was to last through the whole weekend, we felt that it was important for people to reserve the weekend well in advance, so the save the dates were a must. For the style of the wedding, we wanted it to be elegantly vintage, but at the same time to also reflect our love for travel. And so… our save the dates were made in the form of vintage travel tags, had a magnetic backing, and were tea stained to give them an aged look:
And here they are all bundled up and ready to go to a post office!
Now… on to the invitations!! We really didn’t want to send out something that was just paper that might get tossed right away. To go along with the vintage theme, we made a tour of antique bookstores and came back with a whole bunch of pretty old books which would become an essential part of the invitations.
I absolutely loved that each book was completely different and that nobody would get the exact same invitation:
Our wedding invitation went into the hollowed part of the book to the right. Also on the right there was an awesome funky map with the location details hand drawn by our talented friend Stefan. The pocket on the left-hand side held an RSVP card.
Everything was cut, glued, tea stained and painstakingly assembled into super cute packages and I was happy to hear that our guests were super excited to receive them:
More of our wedding photos coming soon! We promise.
