Every once in a while a wedding comes along that’s such a great fit for our studio that we’re blown away. Maryam and Jean-Marc had one of the most intimate weddings we’ve ever attended, and it was intimate even with 140+ guests! The day was a beautiful blending of their family cultures: Persian, Spanish, French, and American. This made for some beautiful traditions, contageous dancing, and so much love you could wring it out like a honeycomb.
What we found so special at this Kohl Mansion wedding was how inclusive it felt to be there. The friends and family were warm and you could just feel the intimacy between them. It was like people truly came together to pour all of their love and happiness out onto Maryam and Jean-Marc.
We met Maryam at her sister’s wedding that we photographed in 2009. (Zahra and Ryan’s wedding at The Ralston Hall was one of our favorites as well). It was a pleasure to be reunited with their family for another great celebration.
The problem with weddings that are so natural and intimate is that we end up bringing home SO many photos that we get attached and editing becomes a real challenge. It’s a good challenge to have and we are happy to share our favorites:
Maryam looked absolutely stunning and we loved her wedding dress:
The emotions were rolling in from the beginning of the day and throughout. Here Maryam and Jean-Marc share a moment during the First Look:
A sneak peak into the ceremony room as Maryam’s father is about to give his daughter to the groom:
SO many special moments took place during their Sofreh ceremony:
Jean-Marc’s parents were emotional and overjoyed:
Sometimes the best shots are from unusual angles:
Some of our favorite parts of Kohl Mansion wedding photography are the beautiful details:
We were really digging the elegant and simple style of the reception and cake rooms:
Maryam’s dance with her father was touching and beautiful:
There was flamenco dancing, Persian dancing, salsa dancing, and then we lost count of the different styles. The outdoor courtyard made for the perfect setting on this warm evening:
We were in LOVE with the people, the moments, and the style that took place at this wedding:
We want to give a big thank you to Carolyn of Carolyn Wilson Events for doing a wonderful job with planning this celebration. The day was spectacular and went off without a hitch.
Congratulations to Maryam and Jean-Marc!!! We were absolutely thrilled to play a small role in your celebration.
