Alison and David is the last couple we’ve recently shot in our North Beach engagement session marathon :) We came to this part of the city three times in the last few weeks and I have to say that I really love this location - we find new and interesting scenes there every time.
These guys live in SoCal and don’t have a chance to visit the Bay Area very often. They came to their engagement session straight from the airport and we were excited to have a chance to meet David for the first time. Their wedding will take place at the awesome Brazilian Room in Berkeley and we’re thrilled to photograph at this venue.
Alison and I discovered that we share a great passion: really good chocolate!! She mentioned that there’s going to be a lot of it at their reception and I’m looking forward to their wedding twice as much now! ;)

We met Vivian and Edmond on Washington Square in North Beach when the sun was still high on the horizon, so we decide to get some coffee (I’m getting addicted to it :) and chat for a while.
During most engagement sessions we don’t really have a plan of where to go - we just meet with our couples in the spot they pick and then go wandering around, looking for beautiful light and cool backgrounds. Vivian and Edmond, however, did their homework: they came to North Beach some time before and scoped out some of their favorite spots.
Edmond and Vivian are getting married at the end of September in gorgeous Solage Calistoga. Did I mention we looove wine country weddings? Cannot wait for your big day, guys!!

Spring is prime-time for the engagement sessions and sometimes we even have a coupe on the same day. This time it was Liz and Nick’s turn and they chose to go to North Beach in SF.
We met in my favorite cafe “Puccini” on Columbus Avenue, got ourselves some yummy cappuccinos, chatted, and even got to meet Nick’s cousins from Canada! We decided it might also be a great idea to relax and get a drink so we just moved on over to the bar next door :) When the light got magical we went out exploring the streets of North Beach.
On our way we found colorful doors, dark bars, beautiful reflections, steep stairways, bright lights and an interesting mural. We love shooting outdoors soooo much; it gives us so much freedom of imagination and the whole world becomes our studio!
Eventually it got dark, but we continued shooting around Washington Square for some time:
What a fun evening this was :) Thanks so much for your company guys!!!

Mike and I usually come to the Wine Country quite a few times throughout the year, but almost every time it’s for photography. Driving through the vine-covered hills, cute little villages, and wineries buried in flowers, we tell each other how we absolutely love this area and that we should come here on our free time so that we can enjoy it.
When it came time to decide where I want to celebrate my birthday this year, I remembered about sunny Napa, and invited my friends out for some wine testing and a picnic in a park with lots of wine, cheese and, of course, picture taking :)
On another note, we’ve recently have been shooting just a whole bunch of engagement sessions! Look forward to checking them out right here in the upcoming week :)
