The Flood Mansion has to be one of our favorite venues in San Francisco and the wedding of Karin and Dennis was delightful. We had so much fun getting to know these guys during their engagement session. We love shooting engagement photos because it helps us to create the connection that makes the wedding day so much easier. Karin and Dennis have great style and it was a pleasure to be with them on their journey leading up to the wedding day.
One of the highlights of their Flood Mansion wedding was an extended portrait session prior to the ceremony. We love setting up the scene for a private “first look” between the couple and this usually leads naturally to creating the edgy and romantic portraits we love so much. We walked all around the inside and outside of Flood Mansion and found a near limitless amount of great backgrounds and interesting lighting options. The architectural style of this historic venue was inspiring and we loved that Karin and Dennis were up for all of our creative and crazy ideas.
It was hard to choose just a few pictures for this blog post, but here are our favorites:
I always know it’s going to be an awesome day when the first thing I see at a bridal suite is gorgeous pair of Manolos:
Love this silhouette of bridesmaids getting the dress down from a window:
Karin looked absolutely breathtaking, we just couldn’t stop taking pictures of her:
Here’s the reason we love the first look so much – it’s always romantic and touching! Both Karin and Dennis became super emotional when seeing each other for the first time. I have to admit that at least one of the photographers was also all teary-eyed behind the camera :)
The reason we love Flood Mansion weddings so much is that the venue is just beautiful incredibly versatile. Can you believe that this portrait is shot at exact same location as the previous one? We didn’t move an inch!!!
We couldn’t get enough of shooting these two, they were just perfect in front of the camera!
This was one of my favorite wedding cakes this year: so cute and stylish!
Flower girl and ring boys delivery truck during the processional :)
Having fun during the cocktail hour:
Karen of Huckleberry Karen Designs did an incredibly job with all the florals:
Dennis with his brother and dad during the reception:
Huge thank you to all the wonderful vendors of the day who made our job easier:
