Nat and I have recently had the pleasure of shooting Natalya and Rob’s amazing wedding. The art we create is always a collaboration – an equal effort by us as well as the couples we photograph. Natalya and Rob seemed to always get our style and it was a thrill to be with them on their wedding day.
Both the ceremony and reception took place at Sir Francis Drake Hotel on Union Square. We love photographing weddings there – for couples who want that quintessential San Francisco wedding experience, this historic 1928 hotel is a true stunner. From the Italian Renaissance lobby decorated with antique crystal chandeliers, gilded ceilings and a sweeping staircase to the famed Harry Denton’s Starlight Room offering the best sunset views in town, Sir Francis Drake Hotel is 1920s glamour at its best! We really love the stylish, romantic feel of this boutique hotel and the weddings we shoot there always turn out amazing.
The day started at Blow, a fun and lively salon in downtown San Francisco that offers great wedding hair and makeup services. Doesn’t the bride look simply stunning?
The walls at Natalya’s house were beyond belief, we could have stayed and photographed there forever!
The bridal party was a blast! The energy level was there all day:
For couple portraits, we visited the brick Hills Bros. building on the beautiful Embarcadero and then headed to Nob Hill where historic sunlit mansions provided a cinematic backdrop:
So many wonderful settings on Nob Hill:
The couple exchanged vows in the extravagant Franciscan Room, which with its velvet drapes, hand-painted murals and gold-embossed ceiling, needed little additional decoration.
We love how this magnificent wall sconce illuminates Natalya’s show-stopping gown:
With its lush, bright-colored wedding palette, the details of the day were simply exquisite: The Empire Ballroom’s ornate chandeliers, preserved since the erection of the historic hotel, illuminate the lavish reception. Feathers and monochromatic floral arrangements in pillars highlight the 1920s glamour feel of the room. All the details of the day were simply exquisite:
HUGE congratulations to this wonderful couple :) We were so happy to be a part of your big day!
Natalya and Rob’s wedding has been featured on Project Wedding’s Wedding of the Week!
