Blissful Wedding Photography in the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond.

When we met Angela and Jay last fall, right away we felt there was a great connection between our approach to artistic photography and what this couple had in mind. We love working with couples who want to create art on their wedding day!

Angela and Jay were wed at a mid-day ceremony at the Berkeley Rose Garden. Being spring time, the season is just right for the sea of blooming roses which greeted us upon our arrival. The garden is an amphitheater style setting which created a great ambiance guests in which to witness the couple’s ceremony. The Berkeley Rose Garden is secluded among the hills and it’s surrounded by wonderful nature.

Angela and Jay were just a blast to be with and we loved creating these images of their wedding. We hope you’ll enjoy them as well:

When shooting wedding receptions together we love it when we catch the same exact moment from two perspectives:

We love shooting at the Palm Event Center as this venue really has it all: a driveway lined with tall palm trees, breathtaking views of vineyards around it, a beautiful patio for the cocktails, and an oak barrel lined candle-lit room for the ceremony.

Liza and Andrew got married in the medieval-like Estate Room of the Palm Event Center. Everything from hundreds of lit candles in rod iron chandeliers, to huge wine barrels and rich wood, was following the wedding theme of Warm Romanticism. It felt warm and inviting.

Liza and Andrew were awesome to work with and so much fun! I also have to mention how super calm Liza was. As it often happens, this wedding had a few mishaps, but from the lost bridal shoes, to a flying bird accident, Liza did not blink once and was just laughing it off. Liza, I can just hope to be calm like you on my wedding day, you are my new hero! :)

One of my favorite thing about the details of this wedding was the desert. Liza and Andrew decided to forgo a traditional wedding cake and have a banana split bar from a local restaurant instead! How awesome is that?! The ice cream bar was a total hit and we’ve never seen guests so excited about a desert. :) Adults and children alike were all around the table piling on different flavors and toppings!!!

Here are a few of our favorites:

We love when our couples see each other for the first time before the ceremony. It’s always a very emotional moment and allows them to enjoy this moment in a more private way:

We loved the idea of taking the first ice cream scoop instead of a traditional cake cutting:

Sharon and Paul had a beautiful Filipino – Italian wedding and I think they did a great job incorporating both cultures: from traditional Filipino coins and roasted pig for the cocktail hour, to the Italian tradition of guests taking home five Jordan almonds to wish the bride and groom health, wealth, happiness, fertility, and longevity.

We also loved all the personal touches Sharon and Paul put in their wedding! Paul is a 3D Production Artist and he drew a beautiful graphic inspired by the venue in Half Moon Bay. These design elements were carried through from the save-the-dates to the mugs which the couple gave away as favors, name tags, as well as the ceremony programs.

Paul and Sharon got married in a small intimate church in Daly City and for their reception the guests came to the spectacular Half Moon Bay Golf Links. Now, I know nothing about golf :), but that was the most spectacular golf course I’ve ever seen! It’s situated on nearly three hundred acres of parkland, lakes, and breath-taking ocean-side bluffs with a beach access. We sure had some room to move around for the portrait session :)

I also want to congratulate Sharon on her upcoming graduation from medical school in less then a week now! She starts her residency soon and I know she’s going to be a wonderful pediatrician.
