Do you ever listen to an album and realize you just can’t get enough of one of the songs?
I felt this way towards a track on Coldplay’s 2005 X&Y album. The entire work is fantastic but “White Shadows” is a masterpiece.
Here’s a video set to this song:

The lyrics:
When I was a young boy I tried to listen
And I wanna feel like that,
Little white shadows blink and miss them
Part of a system, I am
If you ever feel like somethings missing
Things youll never understand,
Little white shadows sparkle and glisten,
Part of a system, a plan
All this noise Im waking up
All this space Im taking up
All this sound is breaking up
Ooh oh ooh
Maybe youll get what you wanted
Maybe youll stumble upon it
Everything you ever wanted
In a permanent state
Maybe youll know when you see it
Maybe if you say it youll mean it
And when you find it youll keep it
In a permanent state, a permanent state
|
When I was a young boy I tried to listen,
Dont you wanna feel like that?
Youre part of the human race
All of the stars in the outer space,
Part of a system, a plan
All this noise Im waking up
All this space Im taking up
I cannot hear youre breaking up
Woaaooh
Maybe youll get what you wanted
Maybe youll stumble upon it
Everything you ever wanted
In a permanent state
Maybe youll know when you see it
Maybe if you say it youll mean it
And when you find it youll keep it
In a permanent state, a permanent state
Swimmin on a sea of faces
The tide of the human races, oh
An answer now is what I need
I see it in the new sun rising and
See it break on your horizon, oh
Come on love, stay with me

A couple of days ago Mike sent me a link to this photographer’s website. I glanced at the first image for a second, saw two kids laying on the ground and was totally not impressed. Feeling something weird about the picture, I kept looking at it and suddenly it became three-dimensional. It was like one of those images where you look at a geometric pattern and eventually you see a beautiful 3D picture.
This collection of Jan Von Holleben is called “Dreams of Flying” and every one of the 12 pictures is just amazing! I was looking at each “dream” for a long time enjoying how simple and original they are.
Check out his website to see the entire “Dreams of Flying” collection.
What do you think?

Mike and I both love music. The first thing Mike does in the morning is to turn the music on; he turns it off as the last thing before going to sleep. If you want Mike to instantly like you just ask him about his music collection. We are lucky enough to both pretty much like the same stuff (although sometimes he listens to something really annoying) :)
We often have an artist or song that we’re just crazy about for a week and can’t get enough of it. And then we get another favorite. We’re going to start sharing with you some of our favorite tunes and for the past few days we’ve been listening to “Fake It” by Seether. Check it out their video right here:
